Art created by America's talents graces the galleries of the Ogunquit Museum of American Art when it opens in mid summer for its annual season. Included amongst the core collection of nearly 1600 fine art objects are works by Ogunquit arts colony members like Hamilton Easter Field and Robert Laurent, pieces by artists from around the state and a selection of art by well-known American names like Edward Hopper, Wolf Kahn, Childe Hassam, and Alex Katz. The museum hosts a variety of cultural happenings on Tuesday evenings in summer and early fall as well as special changing exhibits well-deserving of this facility's reputation as one of the nation's best small museums.
