Soft sandy beach and a historic pier are the shoreside seducers at Old Orchard Beach where paddling sports and charter fishing fill long days, though be sure to venture inland long enough to sample succulent local lobster.
Follow, at least in spirit, the footsteps of one of America's best known poets, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, on a guided tour of his childhood home, the appropriately named Wadsworth-Longfellow House. Open to the public through the Maine Historical Society, this National Historic Landmark, a simple, multi-storied brick building, was home to Wadsworths/Longfellows (and their descendents) from the late 18th century to 1901, and visitors can enjoy a multitude of furnishings from the home's inhabited period as well as a collection of artifacts associated with the two families.
We offer a compact version of Go-Maine for mobile users, allowing you to access just the information you need on the road. Of course, you can still use the full version of Go-Maine on your mobile device just as you can on your desktop.
